Personal Injury

Suffering any injury caused by another significantly impacts your lifestyle, finances and, most importantly, your health. Accidents resulting in Personal Injury can be devastating, both physically and emotionally.

Failing to pursue a legal claim against the responsible party can cause additional financial devastation, as well.

You may be able to recover more than just the out-of-pocket costs that insurance companies may offer you.

Additional compensation due to lost wages, diminished value of the vehicle, negligent entrustment and other non-economic damages like loss of consortium and pain and suffering may apply.

With the right guidance of Bernhardt Law, you can successfully recover from an accident and regain an active, healthy lifestyle.

If you’ve been injured in an auto accident, or while on the property of a negligent business, Bernhardt Law is dedicated to helping you navigate through the difficult times following your Personal Injury accident and getting you the best resolution possible, including compensation of which you may be entitled.

In some cases involving particular injuries, Bernhardt Law teams-up with Personal Injury attorneys, Kemp, Ruge & Green Law Group. In this co-counsel type of representation, you’ll have both our firms working for you at the same standard contingency rate charged by Personal Injury firms throughout Florida.

You pay no fees or costs unless you win or settle your case.

Auto Accidents

Unfortunately, most of us will be involved in an automobile accident during our lives. If it happens to you, there are important things that you should know to ensure you receive the full compensation you may deserve.

  1. If you don’t need to be rushed to the ER, contact the police and gather as much information from the scene as possible:
    • The names, phone numbers, addresses, license plate numbers, and insurance information from the others involved in the accident
    • The names, phone numbers and addresses of anyone who witnessed the accident
    • Photos of damage to the vehicles involved; skid marks; or anything else that you believe may be important
  1. Take notes about the conditions of the road and the weather that day
  2. Make notes of your injuries immediately after the accident, and continue charting how your injuries progress over the next several hours and days
  3. Remember to seek medical attention within 14 days of the accident. If you fail to do so, it is likely that your insurer will deny your claim. It is common for accident victims to have injuries that take days or even weeks to develop, so it is recommended that you seek treatment as soon as possible after the accident

Premises Liability

Personal Injuries sustained due to the negligence of a business or property owner happen to unsuspecting people everyday.  They occur without warning but leave lasting pain and suffering.

In general, the person injured at another’s premises must prove the extent of their injuries, and that the business/property owner:

  1. Knew or should have known of the danger
  2. Failed to fix or give warning of the danger

If you have been injured on the property of another person or business, we offer a complimentary consultation to discuss the potential financial recovery for injuries suffered.
